Without Googling anyone know what SPF (sun) stands for?

We were at a big amusement park Saturday, and our almost 2 yr old had sunscreen on, but was still red from the heat. This grandmother came up asking if she could put sunscreen on her. I was like, "Um...she's had it put on twice, thanks anyway." WTF?
